The NY Times has an excellent opinion piece on the threats to our drinking water. As David Beckman notes, “twice this year the water supply for a major American city was interrupted for days by water pollution.”
This is an ongoing problem which is only going to get worse. These stories are in the news regularly. There is initial panic, and then the problem is ignored when the temporary fix is determined.
Mr. Beckman has a couple suggestions for how to deal with the problem of water scarcity. None of them are consistent with the adopted proposal in Inevitable. Not yet.
